News: filmtiki and amoeba at 2017 CineMart with their collaboration The Illuminatus! TV/VR/AR experience
The Illuminatus! Trilogy subverts the noir conventions of the detective novel to satirize conspiracy theory, secret societies and apocalypse rhetoric, conjuring up a wild, thought-provoking, psychedelic adventure story, best described as the bastard offspring of Dr Strangelove and Yellow Submarine.
We hold the option to the rights to transform this seminal book into a TV show and Interactive Elements. Our adaptation takes this 20th century classic novel by seminal counter-culture authors, Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, and updates it for the media-savvy, 21st century millennial audience.
We are developing 8 interactive experiences, themed around our proposed TV show, The Illuminatus!. Over three seasons and 23 episodes we want to pay homage to the original book by keeping the audience continually guessing what is true and what is not.
Our fully functioning VR demo for season 1 was selected as one of only four VR pieces to be presented at this year’s CineMart at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. Michelle Olley and Scott McPherson were on site to discuss this exciting project. Check out amoeba’s walk through of the VR experience here.
