Indie films deserve great soundtracks!
Our friend Hans Hafner, film music score composer from Berlin, is currently working on the score for the German indie film “Abschiedstournee”, directed by Alexander Pfander. The title sequence song should sound like a Henry Mancini song, so Hans plans to hire an orchestra. Problem is: hiring an orchestra with 40 people or more is extremly expensive, especially with the limited means of an indie film production.
Hans went looking for other ways to make this happen. He found the F.A.M.E.S. Project, an orchestra in Macedonia, He could book by the hour and follow the recording session remotely via video conference. This way, he'd be able to reduce the costs, but still record his song with a professional orchestra anyway. This seems to be a perfect deal, but he still needs € 2.500,-; that's why he's decided to crowdfund "The Good Life", using the newly launched German crowdsponsoring platform mySherpas.com.
There are many people out there who lust for supporting independent films, but how to find and convince them? That's where filmtiki enters the picture. As part of our newly launched "Supported by filmtiki"-program, we're helping Hans spread the word about crowd funding his campaign.
This blog post is just the beginning of a bunch of things we're doing to support Hans in achieving his goal. Besides recommending his project on Twitter, Facebook and other channels, we're acting as consultants - helping him develop ideas and strategies to reach out to the crowd and building a tribe of fans and supporters!
